Mind-Body Connection 2

Every choice or action that we make produces an opposite effect somewhere else and at some other time in our lives.  The thoughts we create become an energy source that can help us or hurt us both mentally and physically.  Unresolved past negative experiences can literally get trapped inside our body, causing physical ailments to arise.

Techniques such as Emotional Freedom Technique, a process of tapping various body meridian points with your fingers, have been successful in removing these blockages, subsequently freeing up the energy in our body, which provides the body with a friendly jump-start to get back on track to utilize its natural healing abilities.

Our physical bodies are made up primarily of space and secondarily of water.  Yet the body remains together as one connected, cohesive unit, taking us where we want to go.  Our body may appear to be rough and tough, able to withstand a lot of abuse, and it sure does.  But it is really a very intricate, delicate machine that needs to be treated well in order to work well.

It is important to take care of our body and mind as best we can.  However, even with our care, because our world can be a very complex, ruthless and confusing place, it is difficult to avoid the negative effects that outside forces can place on us.  The more we learn about ourselves by paying attention to the thoughts in our mind and the sensations in our body, the more tools we can add to our arsenal towards regaining balance and flowing energy that keeps us healthy.

Our bodies have a natural power to rebalance and bring back optimal health.  When we ignore our own health or are unable to chart a course in the environment that we live, our inner body and unconscious mind will send us signals that something is out of balance and requires our attention.  Will we sense these signals and take time to understand where the imbalance lies?  Or will we ignore these signs and forge ahead unconcerned about the ramifications of our decisions?  Each individual needs to draw their own conclusions, be an active participant in their own well-being and be proactive in taking necessary steps to modify their lifestyle to achieve a healthy life balance.

The mind is a very powerful tool that can work for us or work against us.  In many cases, by changing how we think about something, we are able to alter our perception of a situation.  For example, if we are stuck in a situation we view as negative, that we truly have no control over, if we shift our thoughts to create a new way of thinking, there is a greater chance of experiencing this situation in a positive light.  This process keeps our negative thoughts at bay and subsequently keeps our bodies from picking up negative energy in the form of physical ailments.
